Sanandaj: Hassan Amini Transferred to Prison to Serve Sentence

Hassan Amini, brother of Mohammad Amini, one of the martyrs of the 2021 nationwide protests, has been arrested and transferred to Sanandaj prison to serve his sentence.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, Hassan Amini was detained and transferred to Sanandaj prison to serve his prison term. 

In mid-July 2023, the Criminal Court Branch 101 of Boukan sentenced him to six months and fifteen days in prison and forty lashes for “disrupting public order.”

Hassan Amini, the brother of Mohammad Amini who was killed during the nationwide protests of 2021, was arrested by security forces on June 9, 2023, following a protest gathering by grieving families at the grave of Danial Pabandi. He was eventually released on bail from Boukan prison on June 13, 2023.

Mohammad Amini was fatally shot by security forces on October 8, 2021, during the nationwide protests in Sanandaj.
