A court session to review the charges against Leyla Pashaei and Baran Saedi, women’s rights activists in the city of Sanandaj, was held in Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of this city.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, May 26, 2025, a court session was held to address the charges against Leyla Pashaei and Baran Saedi, both women’s rights activists, in Branch 2 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mehran Ramazani.
During the session, Leyla Pashaei and Baran Saedi defended themselves against the charges of “propaganda against the regime,” “forming an illegal group,” and “gathering and colluding against national security.” The presiding judge also increased their bail by 100 million tomans, raising it from 500 to 600 million tomans each.
According to the report, the defendants had previously been released on bail of 500 million tomans each, but at the end of the court session, the judge increased the bail amount to 600 million tomans per person.
These individuals had been released from the Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center on March 25, 2025. Leyla Pashaei and Baran Saedi were arrested on March 10, 2025, by security forces. Their arrest was related to organizing an International Women’s Day commemoration event in Sanandaj.
Leyla Pashaei, a resident of Sanandaj, has previously faced security-related confrontations and arrests due to her activism. Baran Saedi was also arrested during the nationwide protests in 2022 and was released about two months later on bail.
