Sanandaj; Corporal Punishment of Students, One Student Hospitalized

Students at an elementary school in the village of Karju, Sanandaj, were subjected to corporal punishment by their teacher. As a result of the incident, one student was severely injured and hospitalized.

According to Kolbarnews, several students at an elementary school in Karju village were beaten by their teacher. The report states that the teacher, angered by a missing phone charger, locked the students in the classroom and physically assaulted them. One of the students sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital.

The head of Sanandaj Education Department, District 2, confirmed the circulating images and said that legal and administrative proceedings are underway. The teacher has been banned from returning to class.

Salahuddin Mofidi stated that the teacher, a recent graduate from Farhangian University and a first-year teacher, had a history of psychological issues and prior disciplinary warnings. He added, “Today, we will issue his dismissal order from the district.”
