Kamran Sakhtemangar, a well-known labor activist from Sanandaj, was arrested this morning by security forces.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, three security and intelligence vehicles intercepted Kamran Sakhtemangar at 10:30 AM on Jami Street in Sanandaj, detaining him and transferring him to an undisclosed location.
As of now, the reasons for his arrest remain unclear.
Kamran Sakhtemangar has a history of previous arrests and convictions due to his labor activism. Recently, he had been summoned to Branch 109 of the Sanandaj Criminal Court to defend himself against charges of “slander and defamation.” He had received his court summons on December 25, 2024.
