According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, July 14, 2024, Ali Allahveysi was arrested by security forces in Sanandaj.
The report states that the agents arrested the former political prisoner without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred him to an undisclosed location.
As of the time of this report, the reasons for his arrest and the charges against him are unknown.
In May 2022, Ali Allahveysi was sentenced to two years in prison by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Saeedi, on charges of “propaganda against the regime and cooperation with one of the opposition parties.” He was later sentenced by Branch 4 of the Kurdistan Court of Appeals to four years of suspended imprisonment and five months of actual imprisonment on charges of “propaganda against the regime, cooperation with one of the opposition parties, and forming an illegal group.”
This Sanandaj resident was arrested in September of the same year to serve his prison sentence and was transferred to the city’s prison. He was released five months later after completing his sentence.
