Revocation of Mojahid Korkor’s Death Sentence by the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has overturned the death sentence of Mojahid Korkor and referred the case for retrial in a parallel court.

According to Kolbarnews, the Supreme Court revoked the initial death sentence following an appeal submitted by Mr. Korkor’s lawyers. The case will now be reviewed by a court of the same jurisdiction.

Mojahid Korkor had been arrested during the regime’s crackdown in the revolutionary uprising of Jina in Izeh, Khuzestan. He was accused of shooting and killing civilians, including Kian Pirfalak, and was sentenced to death.

However, the Pirfalak family and eyewitnesses have testified to Korkor’s innocence, asserting that regime forces were responsible for the killings.
