Report on the Fifth Day of the War Between Iran and Israel: At Least 1,911 Dead and Injured, 21 Provinces Involved, Internet Disruptions and Increase in Arrests

The military conflict between Iran and Israel, which began early on Friday, the June 13, 2025, is still ongoing. During this period, various areas in Iran including military, civilian, and residential zones have been targeted by attacks, and multiple infrastructures and services have been disrupted. These clashes have caused widespread issues in access to communications and have increased security pressures.

According to Kolbarnews, the military conflict between Iran and Israel, which began in the early hours of Friday, the 13rd of 2025 with Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory, has entered its fifth day. During this time, multiple military, civilian, and residential areas in Iran have been targeted. The spokesperson of the Iranian Red Crescent announced that up to now, 21 provinces of the country have been directly or indirectly involved in the conflict.
According to published reports, on the fifth day of attacks, at least seven people have been killed or injured. The total human casualties of these clashes over the past five days, according to non-governmental sources, have reached at least 1,911 people, including 585 dead and 1,326 injured.
Geographically, the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, East Azerbaijan, Alborz, Markazi, Qazvin, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, West Azerbaijan, Razavi Khorasan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Hamedan, Bushehr, and Kerman were targeted on the fifth day. Isfahan province endured the most attacks. This geographic spread indicates the extent and intensity of the conflict.

Simultaneously with the intensification of the attacks, widespread disruptions in internet access across Iran have been reported. The Minister of Communications announced that due to the country’s special conditions, internet access has been temporarily limited.
WhatsApp remains blocked for the fifth consecutive day, and IRIB has called on users to delete WhatsApp and Instagram. Disruption in Cloudflare-based services has caused issues for independent media and the transmission of emergency data. The Infrastructure Communications Company and ArvanCloud Radar, which display real-time internet status, have been disrupted, and NetBlocks has confirmed widespread internet restrictions in Iran.

Banking infrastructures have also been targeted by cyberattacks. Bank Sepah has gone offline following a cyberattack, and possible disruptions at gas stations may occur. Widespread internet disruptions across various provinces have also been reported by users, but official authorities have remained silent on the matter.

On the other hand, security pressures have increased. Over the past five days, 139 individuals have been arrested due to their online activity and for publishing content related to the conflict. On Tuesday, at least 21 more individuals were arrested. The detainees include media activists, social media users, and some accused of collaborating with Israeli intelligence organizations. Official media reported that judicial cases have been opened for a number of media outlets and digital activists. Also, one prisoner was executed in recent days on charges of espionage for Israel.

In the healthcare sector, the cancellation of leave for doctors and nurses across the country has increased pressure on medical centers. The Deputy Minister of Health announced that medical personnel must be continuously present at healthcare centers.

Considering the human and material damages caused by the conflict, international organizations and human rights activists have emphasized the necessity of adhering to the principles of humanitarian law. These principles include caution in attacks, distinguishing military from civilian targets, and ensuring safe access to humanitarian aid.
