Sirous Fathi, the husband of labor activist Sharifeh Mohammadi, was released from Lakan Prison in Rasht after posting bail.
According to Kolbarnews, quoting the Coordination Committee for the Help of Establishing Labor Organizations, Sirous Fathi was released on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The report indicates that Sirous Fathi’s release was facilitated through the provision of bail.
Sirous Fathi had been arrested by security forces on June 11, 2024, and subsequently transferred to Lakan Prison in Rasht.
Regarding Sharifeh Mohammadi, it is noteworthy that she was arrested by Intelligence Security agents at her home in Rasht on December 5, 2023. She was transferred from Lakan Prison in Rasht to Sanandaj Prison on December 30, 2023, and after some time, she was returned to Lakan Prison.
As of the time of this report, the specific charges against Sirous Fathi and Sharifeh Mohammadi remain unknown. Sirous Fathi, originally from Kuchesfahan and residing in the Gendarmerie neighborhood of Rasht, was employed in the installation services field before his arrest. Additionally, he is a member of the Sepehr Mountaineering Group and one of the main pillars of the Gilan Mountaineers’ Association.
