Piranshahr: Number of Detainees Rises to Nine

With the identification of three additional individuals Jigar Mojahidi, Farhad Peleh, and Keyvan Asaseh the number of people detained in Piranshahr over the past two days has risen to nine. Previously, the arrests of Mohammad Sohrabi, Hiwa Shojaei, Anwar Ebrahimi, Morad Estavar, Ne’mat Ahmadnejad, and Fardin Mahmoudi had been reported.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, January 20, 2025, Jigar Mojahidi, a resident of Piranshahr, was arrested. On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Keyvan Asaseh and Farhad Peleh, two other residents of Piranshahr, were also detained by security forces and transferred to unknown locations.

The arrests of Anwar Ebrahimi, Hiwa Shojaei, Mohammad Sohrabi, Fardin Mahmoudi, Morad Estavar, and Ne’mat Ahmadnejad had previously been reported on Monday morning. Among them, Mohammad Sohrabi, a participant in the nationwide protests of 2022, had a history of judicial confrontations and convictions for his activities.

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for these arrests, the detainees’ whereabouts, or the charges against them.
