Piranshahr: Arrest of Four Citizens by Security Forces

Ahmad Mam-Sharifi, Sadegh Mahmoudnejad, Seyed Rahman Hosseini, and Aryan Mashaikhi, four citizens from Piranshahr have been arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, Aryan Mashaikhi, a resident of the village of “Gard-e Rahmat,” and Sadegh Mahmoudnejad, from the village of “Jeran” (both in Piranshahr County), were arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location. In a separate report, on Friday, June 20, Seyed Rahman Hosseini and Ahmad Mam-Sharifi, residents of the village of “Silveh” and currently living in Piranshahr, were also arrested and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to the report, the security forces made these arrests without presenting any judicial warrant.

It is worth noting that Sadegh Mahmoudnejad is a victim of an eye injury and a former detainee from the Jina (Woman, Life, Freedom) revolutionary uprising. He was previously subjected to 15 days of arbitrary detention and interrogation by security agencies. He was later temporarily released on bail and subsequently convicted in two separate cases by the Revolutionary Court and the Criminal Court.

The Mahabad Revolutionary Court sentenced him to five years and six months in prison on charges of “membership in a Kurdish opposition party” and “propaganda against the regime.” Additionally, in August 2023, Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of Piranshahr sentenced him to three months in prison and 30 lashes for “disturbing public order and peace by participating in protests and inciting violence via social media.” After appealing, this sentence was commuted to a fine of 8 million tomans.

On January 2, 2024, after being summoned to the enforcement branch of the court, he was arrested again and transferred to Naghadeh Prison to serve his prison sentence.
