Mohammad Rasoulpour, a 52-year-old resident of Oshnavieh, has been transferred to the city’s prison to serve a one-and-a-half-year prison sentence.
According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Mohammad Rasoulpour began serving his sentence following a conviction by the Oshnavieh Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Ali Ansari. He had initially been sentenced to two years in prison for “affiliation and membership in an opposition party to the Iranian government” and “propaganda against the regime.” However, the sentence was reduced to 18 months under Article 442 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
On the evening of Tuesday, July 3, 2024, security forces arrested Mohammad Rasoulpour from the village of Kohneh Qaleh in Oshnavieh County without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred him to an undisclosed location. After completing the interrogation process, he was moved from a security detention center in Urmia to Oshnavieh Prison. On Sunday, July 14, 2024, he was temporarily released on bail of 600 million tomans, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
Mohammad Rasoulpour, 52, is a father of three children.
