Idris Karsaz, a 55-year-old resident of Oshnavieh and a member of the Oshnavieh Charity Association, has been transferred to Oshnavieh Prison to serve his sentence.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, Idris Karsaz was sent to Oshnavieh Prison to begin serving a three-year prison sentence issued by the Revolutionary Court of Oshnavieh earlier this fall. He was convicted on charges of “membership and collaboration with a Kurdish opposition party.”
Mr. Karsaz was arrested on July 4, 2024, when regime security forces raided his home and transferred him to the central prison in Urmia. After being held in temporary detention for 47 days, he was released on bail on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, until his trial and sentencing.
