Akram, Koohsar, Farshad, Fardin, and Ehsan Rostamnejad, five brothers and kolbars from the village of Shamsheer near Paveh, have been injured by border guards over the past two years along the Nowsud border.
According to Kolbarnews, over the past two years, the five brothers from Shamsheer village were injured due to direct gunfire and pursuit by border forces in the Nowsud border region.
The report specifically highlights that on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Akram Rostamnejad, a kolbar from Shamsheer village, was injured after falling from a mountain while being chased by border guards.
On February 2, 2024, “Koohsar Rostamnejad” was injured as a result of direct gunfire from border forces. This Kolbar was wounded in the head and was transferred to Taleghani Hospital in Kermanshah due to the severity of his injuries.In another incident on May 12, 2021, Koohsar, along with his brother Akram Rostamnejad, was once again injured by border forces’ gunfire in the Nowsud border area. Koohsar is married and has one child.
Fardin Rostamnejad, a 26-year-old kolbar, also married with one child, became paralyzed after being shot by border forces at the Kalebar-Nowsud border on February 27, 2023, and permanently lost the ability to walk.
In another case, on Tuesday night, January 9, 2024, another family member, “Farshad Rostamnejad,” 33 years old, was injured by direct gunfire from border forces at the Nowsud border.Additionally, according to another report, “Ehsan Rostamnejad,” the fourth brother in this family of Kolbars, was shot and injured by border forces at the Nowsud border over the past two years.
According to statistics recorded by Kolbarnews, in the first six months of 2024, a total of 270 Kolbars in the border areas and inter-road routes of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah provinces were killed or injured due to factors such as direct shooting by the regime’s military forces, avalanches and frostbite, stepping on mines, falling from mountains and heights, and other incidents. Out of this number, a total of 34 Kolbars (13%) were killed and 236 Kolbars (87%) were injured.Of the 270 Kolbars who were killed or injured in the first six months of 2024, a total of 222 cases (82%) were due to direct shooting or beatings by the regime’s military forces.Additionally, of the 270 Kolbars who were killed or injured in the first six months of 2024 in the Kurdish border region, 20 of them were children under the age of 18.Comparing the statistics of the first six months of 2024 with the same period in 2023, we have witnessed a 218% increase in the killing and injuring of Kolbarn in the Kurdish border region.
