Following the overturn and explosion of a Sukhtbari vehicle on the Nikshahr–Kenarak road, Omid Baloch Lashari, a 22-year-old man from Lashar, lost his life in the fire.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Saturday, May 10, 2025, a Sukhtbari vehicle overturned and caught fire on the Nikshahr to Kenarak route, leading to the death of a young Baloch Sukhtbar.
The deceased Sukhtbar has been identified as Omid Baloch Lashari, 22 years old, son of Moradbakhsh, and a resident of Lashar County.
Local sources reported that the incident occurred around 9 PM in the Gorandogan area, after a tire on the Saipa vehicle carrying fuel blew out. The vehicle overturned, exploded, and the driver perished in the flames. Omid Lashari was reportedly newly married.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
