Naqadeh: Salam Azari Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Salam Azari, a resident of Naqadeh, has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison by Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court.

According to Kolbarnews, Salam Azari recently received a verdict issued by Judge Dousti of Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court. He was sentenced to one year in prison for the charge of “membership in an opposition party” and an additional six months in prison for “propaganda against the regime.”

Salam (Shahin) Azari was arrested by security forces in Naqadeh in November 2023, during which his family home was searched. He was initially transferred to a security detention center in Urmia and, after the interrogation process, moved to Naqadeh Prison.

In February 2024, Salam Azari was released from Naqadeh Prison on bail.
