Minab: Military Forces Open Fire on Sukhtbari Vehicles

Gunfire by military forces on Sukhtbari vehicles in Minab led to the overturning of a Nissan truck carrying fuel.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, November 3, 2025, military forces in the city of Minab opened fire on a group of Sukhtbars after pursuing them. The incident resulted in the overturning of a Sukhtbari Nissan pickup truck transporting fuel.

As of the time this report was published, no information has been released regarding the identity or number of passengers in the overturned vehicle, nor their physical condition.

Based on a video circulated on social media, several Sukhtbari vehicles can be seen driving along one of Minab’s roads when they come under fire from a Samand car belonging to the military forces during a chase.
During the pursuit and gunfire, one of the Sukhtbars veers off the road and overturns.

Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
