Military forces at the Milak border terminal poured gasoline on an 18 year old Baloch Kolbar and set him on fire, severely injuring him.
According to Kolbarnews, citing sources in Balochistan, on Monday, October 27, 2025, military forces stationed at the Milak border terminal, part of Hirmand County, set a young Baloch Kolbar on fire by pouring gasoline on him.
According to the report, the identity of this Baloch Kolbar is “Ali (surname unknown),” an 18-year-old from Milak.
He was stopped by border guard tactical unit officers while transporting a gallon of gasoline, and one of the military personnel emptied the gasoline on his body and set him on fire.
Videos released from the hospital show Ali hospitalized with severe burns on his legs. In a short interview, he said:
“I only had one gallon of gasoline and wanted to sell it when the military force caught me, poured the gallon of gasoline on my body, and set me on fire. My legs burned.”
Local witnesses tried to extinguish the fire, but Ali suffered deep burns. According to sources close to his family, his family’s mental state is critical, and so far, no official institution has been held accountable or responded to this incident.
Sukhtbari and Kolbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
