Mahabad; Pouria Nasiri Sentenced to Three Months of Suspended Imprisonment

Pouria Nasiri, a law student at Mahabad Azad University, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court to three months of suspended imprisonment.

According to Kolbarnews, Pouria Nasiri, an undergraduate law student at Mahabad Azad University, was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad to three months of suspended imprisonment for a period of two years.

The trial session for Mr. Nasiri’s charges was held in August 2025 at the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, where the presiding judge found him guilty on the charge of “propaganda against the regime.”

Pouria Nasiri was previously arrested by security forces on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in one of Mahabad’s streets without a judicial warrant. After 19 days of temporary detention, he was released from Mahabad Prison on July 8, 2025, upon posting bail.

He had also been arrested earlier on October 30, 2023, by security forces.
