Mahabad: Mohammad Reza Qaytarani Released on Bail

Mohammad Reza Qaytarani, one of the detainees from the Jina revolutionary uprising, has been temporarily released from Mahabad Prison on a bail of one billion tomans until the end of his trial.

According to Kolbarnews, Mohammad Reza Qaytarani, a detainee from the Jina revolutionary uprising, was released on August 5, 2024, after posting a bail of one billion tomans. 

After his initial arrest, he was transferred to a security detention center in Urmia for interrogation and later moved to Mahabad Prison.

On the evening of July 10, 2024, the 22-year-old Qaytarani was arrested by security forces in Mahabad.

Qaytarani had previously been arrested during the Jina uprising on September 23, 2022, in Independence Square, Mahabad. Following a few days in detention at the Intelligence Office of Mahabad, he was transferred to a security detention center in Urmia for further interrogation. After the completion of the interrogation process, he was returned to Mahabad. He was eventually released on bail after two months of detention.
