Labor; Death of Two Workers Due to Work Accidents

Two workers lost their lives in separate incidents in the cities of Abdanan and Shahu.

According to Kolbarnews, on June 18, 2024, Amir Mohammadi, a worker and tractor driver from Siah Khani, Abdanan, died when his tractor overturned while working on the uneven agricultural lands of the Siah Khani area. 

In another incident, Adnan Khosravi, a worker from Mansour Aghaei, a suburb of Shahu, died from electrocution while working on June 19, 2024. 

Khosravi, who had sustained severe injuries in the accident the previous day, died in a hospital in Kermanshah.

It is worth noting that in 2023, a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) died in work-related accidents, marking an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, which recorded 1,900 fatalities.

Iran ranks 102nd in the world in terms of workplace safety, which is a very low ranking.
