Kurdistan: At Least 17 Kolbars Killed in the Past 70 Days

Since the beginning of 1403 (Iranian calendar), a total of 17 Kolbars, including a child Kolbar, have been killed along the border regions of Kurdistan.

According to Kolbarnews, over the past 70 days, 17 Kolbars have lost their lives due to factors such as direct gunfire from border forces, hypothermia, heart attacks, and falls from mountains in the border regions of Kurdistan. Of these, 12 Kolbars (71%) were killed by direct gunfire from border forces, 1 kolbar died of a heart attack while working, 2 kolbars succumbed to hypothermia, and 2 kolbars died from falls while being pursued by border forces. 

Among them was a 15-year-old child Kolbar named Hastyar Abdolkarimi.

The daily statistics of these kolbars are as follows:

– Saturday, March 23, 2024: Peyman Ahmadi, a 35-year-old kolbar from Javanrud, was killed by direct gunfire from border forces in the Nowsud border region.

– Sunday, March 24, 2024: Soran Abdi, a 22-year-old married Kolbar from Baneh, was killed by border forces in the HangeJal area. His wife is reported to be pregnant.

– Sunday, March 24, 2024: Mohammad Bayar Mohammadi, a 48-year-old Kolbar from the village of Ziran near Javanroud, died of a heart attack while working in the Nowsud border region.

– Sunday, March 24, 2024: Hastyar Abdolkarimi, a 15-year-old child kolbar from Divandarreh, died from hypothermia after being trapped in snow at the Mishav border in Saqqez.

– Sunday, March 24, 2024: Saeed Salousi, a 33-year-old kolbar from Piranshahr, went missing while working and was found dead from hypothermia on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

– Thursday, March 28, 2024: Shorsh Shokri, a Kolbar from the village of Almaneh in Marivan, died after falling from a mountain in the Teteh heights.

– Thursday, March 28, 2024: Abubakr Makhouzi, a Kolbar from Mirabad, died after falling from a height in the “Dasht Vezineh” heights in Sardasht.

– Saturday, April 13, 2024: Mehrdad Abdollahzadeh, a 20-year-old Kolbar from the village of Maraghan near Sardasht, was killed by direct gunfire from border forces in the Beytoush border region.

– Thursday, April 13, 2024: Omid Seyedi, a 40-year-old Kolbar, was killed by border forces at the Bastam border in Saqqez. His body was found after eight hours of search.

– Wednesday, April 17, 2024: Seiwan Dastafkan, known as “Seiwan Darreh-Peman,” a married with a young child from the village of Dareh-Peman near Marivan, was killed by border forces in the Tateh mountains of Hawraman.

– Sunday, April 21, 2024: Shwaneh Ahmadpour, a 34-year-old Kolbar from the village of Najneh near Baneh, was killed by direct gunfire from border forces in the “Balaki” border region. He was married with one child.

– Wednesday, May 1, 2024: Hemin Ahmadi, a 45-year-old married Kolbar with an 8-year-old child from the village of Karizeh near Saqqez, was shot and killed by border forces in the Bastam border region.

– Thursday, May 2, 2024: Jalal Sohrabi, about 40 years old from the village of Tajian near Baneh, was killed by border forces in the “Sourkev” border region. He was married with two children.

– On the evening of Sunday, May 5, 2024, border guard forces in the HangeJal border area of Baneh shot and killed a Kolbar. 

The identity of this Kolbar, Ata Rostampour, approximately 40 years old and from the city of Saqqez, has been confirmed by Kolbarnews.

– On Thursday, May 9, 2024, IRGC forces in the Sardasht border area targeted and killed a Kolbar with heavy DShK machine gunfire. The identity of this Kolbar, Salar Ahmadi, a 23-year-old son of Ahmad (known as Ahmad Nivchavani) from Nalas, a suburb of Sardasht, has been confirmed by Kolbarnews.

– Early today, Thursday, May 16, 2024, a young Kolbar from Saqqez was killed by border guard forces in the HangeJal border area of Baneh. The identity of this Kolbar, Vahid Qaderpour, son of Bayaz Qaderpour, from the village of Darreziarat near Saqqez, has been reported.

– On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, border guard forces in the HangeJal border area of Baneh opened fire on a group of Kolbars, resulting in the death of a young Kolbar. The identity of this kolbar, Sina Rasoulzadeh, a 19-year-old from Nalas, Sardasht, has been confirmed by Kolbarnews.
