Kohnooj: Six-Year-Old Student Suffers Jaw Fracture Due to Corporal Punishment

In one of the schools in the village of Kahourabad, Kohnooj, a six-year-old student suffered a broken jaw and severe chin injury after being subjected to corporal punishment by his teacher.

According to Kulbarnews, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, a student in Kohnooj was physically punished by his teacher. The report states that the teacher in a school in Kahourabad, located in Kerman province, slapped the six-year-old boy five times and then pushed him. As a result, the student sustained a broken jaw and severe injury to his chin and was taken to the hospital.

The Kahnooj Education Department emphasized that any form of corporal punishment is against the regulations of the education system, and the teacher responsible must be held accountable.
They further stated that the case is being reviewed by the relevant educational and legal authorities in Kahnooj and Kerman province.

According to Article 77 of the School Disciplinary Regulations, any form of punishment, such as insults, corporal punishment, or excessive homework, is prohibited and constitutes a clear violation of children’s rights.
