Kermanshah; One Worker Killed Following Municipal Enforcement Operation

A 68-year-old security guard in Kermanshah lost his life after being struck by objects thrown by municipal enforcement officers.

According to Kolbarnews, on the morning of Friday, July 20, 2025, during the presence of municipal enforcement (Building Police) officers from District 5 of Kermanshah municipality at a local building, a 68-year-old security guard named “Ali Gholami” was killed.

According to the report, municipal officers had entered the property to address alleged construction violations. Following a dispute between the enforcement officers and the building owner over construction-related issues, some objects were thrown from the fourth floor by the officers. As a result, these objects struck the building’s security guard, causing his immediate death.

It is noteworthy that in 2024, at least 2,042 workers lost their lives due to work-related accidents, and at least 16,113 workers were injured in workplace incidents.

Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety compliance, which is considered a very low ranking.
