Iranshahr: Baloch Sukhtbar Killed by Unknown Armed Assailants

A Baloch Sukhtbar named Rahman Sabaki was fatally shot by unidentified armed individuals.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, April 20, 2025, Rahman Sabaki was traveling along the Iranshahr–Sarbaz route when he was targeted by gunfire and killed.
Rahman Sabaki, approximately 35 years old, was a resident of Delgan, married, and the father of three.

Reports indicate that he was driving a Sukhtbari vehicle from Iranshahr toward Sarbaz when he was ambushed and shot dead in the Sarbaz area.

The identity and motives of the attackers remain unknown at the time of reporting.

Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
