Following a chase and gunfire by military forces along the Iranshahr–Abtar road, two Baloch Sukhtbars were involved in a vehicle overturning incident, one was killed, and the other was seriously injured.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, two Baloch Sukhtbars was pursued and fired upon by military forces on the Iranshahr–Abtar route, leading to the vehicle overturning and causing one death and one injury among the occupants.
The identity of the deceased fuel carrier has been confirmed as Rahmat Mahmoudzehi, son of Taj Mohammad, married and father of four, a resident of Abtar, Iranshahr County. The identity of the injured fuel carrier is still unknown.
According to local sources, Rahmat was traveling without any fuel load on the Iranshahr–Abtar road when military forces pursued and opened fire at his vehicle, which led to the crash and overturning.
The same sources added: “Rahmat died from severe injuries caused by the vehicle overturning, and his companion was also injured in the incident.”
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
