Vahid Chavaran, Naser Rezaei, and Mohammad Hossein Haseli three political prisoners from Abdanan have been exiled from Ilam Central Prison to prisons in Zahedan, Kerman, and Mashhad to serve their sentences.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, the three individuals were transferred from Ilam Central Prison to different cities. They were each sentenced to 12 years in exile on charges including “enmity against God (moharebeh)” and “assembly and collusion against national security,” in connection with the nationwide protests known as the “Jina Revolution.”
From June to August 2023, they were detained without judicial orders and held for over eight months in Ilam Prison. During this time, they were denied access to legal counsel and fair legal procedures and subjected to physical and psychological torture. In September 2023, they sewed their lips shut and went on hunger strike to protest prison conditions.
Vahid Chavaran, a civil activist and paragliding coach, was arrested on June 23rd, 2023, at the Urmia border while attempting to leave the country and was transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center in Ilam. Sources report he was tortured into forced confessions and suffered psychological harm. He has now been sent to Zahedan Prison.
Naser Rezaei was first arrested in June 2023) temporarily released, and rearrested in August after being summoned to the Dehloran court. He was held incommunicado without access to a lawyer and is now transferred to Kerman Prison.
Mohammad Hossein Haseli, a resident of Sarab Bagh (a district in Abdanan), was violently arrested in August 2023 during a raid on his home. His property was damaged, and he was beaten before being taken away. After months of detention, he has now been exiled to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
