Gilan Gharb: Release of Teacher’s Union Activist Lotfollah Parviz

Lotfollah Parviz, a teachers’ union activist from Gilan Gharb, has been released on bail from one of the city’s security detention centers.

According to Kolbarnews, citing the Iranian Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Associations, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, Lotfollah Parviz was freed after posting bail following an order from the Kermanshah prosecutor’s office. His release came after being held in a security detention center in Gilan Gharb.

Parviz was originally arrested by agents from the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization at his home in Gilan Gharb on the evening of Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

So far, no information has been provided regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges against him. Lotfollah Parviz is known as an activist for both teachers’ rights and environmental causes.
