Eslamabad-e Gharb; Three-Year Prison Sentence for Shahab Darabi, Truck Driver

Shahab Darabi, a citizen and truck driver from Eslamabad-e Gharb, has been sentenced to three years and one day of imprisonment for supporting the truck drivers’ strike.

According to Kolbarnews, Shahab Darabi, a blogger and truck driver from Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of this city to three years and one day of imprisonment.

The charges against him stem from his support for the nationwide truck drivers’ strike in June 2025 and for posting supportive content on Instagram.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Shahab Darabi was arrested after security forces raided his home and physically assaulted him. He was later released on bail on June 1, 2025, pending trial. Before his arrest, he had publicly expressed his support for the strike on his Instagram page.

This civil activist had also been previously arrested on February 28, 2024, by security forces for publishing a critical post opposing the elections and was released after a short period.
