Following a road accident on the way to the workplace of tomato-picking workers in Dehdasht, two female workers lost their lives and three others were injured.
According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in a traffic accident on the Dehdasht to Behbahan road, two female workers who were on their way to pick tomatoes lost their lives, and three other workers were injured.
The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been officially announced.
It is said that these women, all of whom were single mothers, were from Dehdasht in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province and were traveling to tomato fields in Behbahan, Khuzestan province, for work.
The accident occurred approximately 10 kilometers from Dehdasht. According to initial reports, the vehicle carrying these workers collided with another vehicle.
The collision was so severe that two female passengers died instantly, and three others were injured and transported to the hospital. Reports indicate that the condition of the injured is critical.
It should be noted that in the year 2023, a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in work-related incidents, marking an 11.3 percent increase compared to the previous year when the death toll was 1,900.
