Death of a Baloch Worker Due to Electrocution and Fall Caused by Lack of Workplace Safety

A 25-year-old Baloch worker at Makran Steel lost his life in Chabahar due to electrocution and a subsequent fall caused by the lack of workplace safety measures.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Parviz Raeisi, 25, from the village of Shagim Bala in Nikshahr County, died while working on the Makran Steel project in Chabahar after being electrocuted and falling from a height of about 50 meters.

Local sources stated that the incident occurred due to insufficient safety equipment at the worksite and delays in emergency response.
After being electrocuted, he fell from the height, and due to the absence of an ambulance on site, his transfer to a medical facility was delayed a factor that, according to witnesses, may have contributed to his death.

Parviz Raeisi was a worker on the project and had recently married. The Makran Steel complex, covering around 300 hectares, is located in the Chabahar Free Zone along the Chabahar–Kenarak road and is considered one of the largest industrial projects on the Makran coast.

Local workers say that in major industrial projects in Sistan and Baluchestan, including Makran Steel, the lack of personal protective equipment and the absence of adequate emergency infrastructure have repeatedly endangered workers’ lives and led to fatal accidents.
