Bukan: Ahmad Hassanzadeh Arrested to Serve Prison Sentence

Ahmad Hassanzadeh, the father of Mohammad Hassanzadeh, one of the martyrs of the Jina Revolutionary Movement, has been arrested and transferred to Bukan Prison to serve a three-month prison sentence.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Ahmad Hassanzadeh, 57, was detained to serve his sentence at Bukan Central Prison. He had been sentenced to three months in prison by Branch 101 of the Bukan Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Mehdi Fakhri, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.” His conviction was based on his participation in street protests and calls for a general strike among merchants on the second anniversary of the Jina Revolution.

Hassanzadeh was initially arrested on September 15, 2024, in front of his home by security forces in Bukan. He was later released on September 17, 2024, after posting bail.

The next day, they were temporarily released on 4 billion tomans bail. However, Solmaz Hassanzadeh remains in detention and is currently held in the women’s ward of Urmia Prison.

Both Ahmad and Solmaz Hassanzadeh had been previously arrested by security forces in Bukan last year.
