In a road accident in Anbarabad County, three Sukhtbars, including two Baloch child Sukhtbars, lost their lives.
According to Kolbarnews, citing sources from Balochistan, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, a Sukhtbari vehicle overturned and caught fire near the village of Deh-Reza in Anbarabad County, resulting in the deaths of three Sukhtbars, including two Baloch children, who burned in the fire.
The three Baloch Sukhtbars have been identified as Rasul Qanbari, 15, and Isa Qanbari, 23, both sons of Bejar from the village of Chil-Kenar in Delgan County, and Omidreza Qanbari, approximately 17, son of Mirza from Anbarabad.
Sukhtbari is considered an unconventional and hazardous job that many Baluch people in Baluchistan are forced into due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that Sukhtbars face.
According to reports from Baluch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baluch Sukhtbars have died from shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, with another 80 injured in these incidents, including nine children.
