Ahvaz: Sentence of Two Citizens to Prison

Mohammad Zaman Kamrava and Morad Zohrabi, retirees of the Social Security Organization in Ahvaz, have each been sentenced to two years in prison by Branch Two of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court.

According to Kolbarnews, citing the Free Union of Iranian Workers, the sentences were issued on the June 6, 2025, and formally communicated to the defendants. Both individuals were convicted on charges of “assembly and collusion to commit a crime against internal/external security” and “propaganda against the regime,” and each received a two-year custodial sentence.

The case stems from their participation in protest gatherings held by retirees in front of the Social Security office in Ahvaz on Sundays during February 2022.

It is worth noting that in May 2024, Mohammad Zaman Kamrava was arrested by security forces after a protest rally by retirees in Ahvaz and was later released.

Both Kamrava and Zohrabi are retired Social Security workers residing in Ahvaz, and their legal representation is currently being handled by Farzaneh Zilabi.
