Military forces of the regime in Zahedan are seen chasing a Sukhtbari vehicle and directly shooting at it.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, June 2, 2024, military forces on the ring road of Zahedan city stopped and seized a Peugeot 405 Sukhtbari vehicle by shooting directly at it during a chase.
The identity of the Baloch Sukhtbar being pursued is unknown at the time of this report.
Local sources reported: “This morning, several military vehicles blocked the route of Sukhtbars on the ring road and pursued and directly shot at one of the Sukhtbars. After the driver of the Sukhtbari vehicle attempted to escape, the military forces managed to seize the vehicle.”
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have resorted to out of lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturning, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars in this profession. According to reports from Baloch activists in 2023, at least 172 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, and 42 others were injured in these incidents, including 11 children
