Three Baloch Sukhtbars were killed and injured as a result of a car accident on the road from Joondabad to Zahedan.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Sunday, May 12, 2024, at least two Baloch Sukhtbars were killed and one other injured in a car accident on the road from Joondabad to Zahedan.
The deceased Sukhtbars have been identified as “Nourahmad Mingal” (Baji Zahi), 24 years old, from the village of Tahlab in Mirjaveh, and “Zakaria Rakhshani,” from Mirjaveh. The injured Sukhtbar, “Fater Rakhshani,” 21 years old, from Mirjaveh, has also been identified.
According to the report, two Sukhtbari vehicles collided on the road from Joondabad to Zahedan, resulting in a fire. As a result of this fire, two Sukhtbars lost their lives and another person was transferred to Hospital in Zahedan.
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have resorted to out of lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturning, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars in this profession. According to reports from Baloch activists in 2023, at least 172 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, and 42 others were injured in these incidents, including 11 children
