Zahedan: Municipality Workers Strike and Protest Over Unpaid Wages

Municipality workers in Zahedan went on strike and held a protest in response to not receiving their wages for three months.

According to Kolbarnews, a group of workers from Zahedan Municipality’s District 3 staged a strike and protest today, Thursday, June 13, 2024, over unpaid wages spanning three months.

These workers, who gathered in front of the Hamyar Tejarat Organization of Zahedan, stated that they have not received any salaries since the beginning of the current year, and municipal officials have not fulfilled their promises to pay the overdue wages that were made just the previous day.

One of the protesting workers said, “We have not received our wages for three months, and no one is addressing our demands. Municipal officials had promised to pay our wages yesterday, but that promise was not kept.”
