Zahedan-Khash: One Baloch Sukhtbar Killed, Another Injured in Vehicle Rollover

A Baloch Sukhtbar lost his life and another was injured in a vehicle rollover on the Zahedan-Khash highway.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, May 1, 2025, a Baloch Sukhtbar was killed and another injured after their vehicle overturned on the Zahedan–Khash road, near the Ghatar Khanjak area.

The deceased Sukhtbar has been identified as Mohammad Mengal, approximately 21 years old, son of Abdulaziz, and a resident of Zahedan.
At the time of this report, the identity of the injured Sukhtbar reportedly the brother of the deceased is not yet confirmed.

Local sources stated that the accident was caused by a tire burst, leading to the vehicle’s overturn. Mohammad died from head injuries sustained in the crash, while the other Sukhtbar was wounded.

Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
