A Baluch Sukhtbar lost his life due to severe injuries sustained in a collision between two vehicles, a Pride and a Peugeot 405, on the Zahedan-Cheshmeh Ziarat road near the solar power plant.
According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, the accident occurred when the Pride, attempting to navigate a damaged section of the road, suddenly changed direction, leading to a direct collision with the Peugeot 405.
The deceased was identified as Sadeq Hassanzehi, a 30-year-old resident of Zahedan, married with three children.
The incident highlights the poor road conditions in the area, which contributed to the fatal accident.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to undertake due to the lack of suitable and sustainable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, road accidents, and vehicle fires, while 80 others were injured in these incidents, including 9 children.
