Zahedan; Citizen Succumbs to Injuries from Gasoline Stand Fire

Mohammad Rakhshani, who sustained severe burns during a fire at a gasoline stand, has died after five days of suffering from his injuries.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, June 21, 2024, Mohammad Rakhshani, a 23-year-old motorcyclist and resident of Zahedan, succumbed to his burn injuries sustained on Sunday, June 16, 2024. The incident occurred at a gasoline stand on Tabatabaei Street in Zahedan. Despite efforts to treat his injuries, Rakhshani, son of Shamseddin and a married man, passed away due to the severity of the burns.

Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have resorted to out of lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturning, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars in this profession. According to reports from Baloch activists in 2023, at least 172 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, and 42 others were injured in these incidents, including 11 children
