Zabol: Poisoning of 9 Students at Efat Girls’ Boarding School

At least nine students from Efat Girls’ Boarding School have suffered severe poisoning and illness and were transferred to the emergency department of Amir al-Mu’minin Hospital in Zabol.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at least nine students from Efat Girls’ Boarding School were severely poisoned and fell ill, leading to their transfer to the emergency ward of Amir al-Mu’minin Hospital in Zabol. These students, who were staying in the school’s dormitory, caused fear and panic among other students due to the poisoning.

Based on published images, after being transferred to the emergency room of Amir al-Mu’minin Hospital, two students were placed on each emergency bed, which reflects the lack of infrastructure, educational and medical resources, and the mismanagement by officials of the Islamic Republic in Sistan and Baluchestan.

As of the time of this report, the cause of the poisoning remains unknown, and the relevant authorities in Zabol have not responded to the incident. Furthermore, the dormitory staff has handed the students over to their families without providing further details.
