Three Baloch Sukhtbars traveling from Khash to Yazd for fuel loading were arrested with violence by military forces during the loading process.
According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, February 21, 2025, three Baloch Sukhtbar were detained by military forces in Yazd.
Their identities have been confirmed as Osman Shahnawazi 20 years old, son of Habib, Masoud Shahnawazi 22 years old, son of Khodabakhsh, and Ali Shahnawazi 22 years old, son of Shah Mohammad. All three are married and residents of Khash.
According to the report, the three men had traveled to Yazd in three Peugeot 405 vehicles to load fuel when military forces raided the location.
At 9 AM, security forces stormed the house where the fuel was being loaded, violently arrested the three men with verbal abuse, and confiscated their vehicles.
As of the time of this report, there is no information available regarding their whereabouts.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
