West Azerbaijan: Crisis in Construction Workers’ Insurance in

10,000 construction workers in West Azerbaijan are still waiting for insurance coverage.

According to Kulbarnews, the head of the Construction Workers’ Trade Union of West Azerbaijan reported a critical situation regarding workers’ insurance in the province. He stated that 10,000 construction workers remain on the waiting list for insurance, and the insurance coverage of 1,200 others was unjustifiably terminated last year.

Shirzad Gholipour, the union’s head, highlighted that the association has 25,000 members and emphasized that cutting off workers’ insurance, especially during the cold season when working conditions become more challenging, has dealt a severe blow to the livelihood of this group.

Gholipour also pointed to the misuse of workers’ insurance quotas, noting that some individuals use their influence to allocate insurance quotas to people other than genuine workers.
