Political prisoner Soe’da Khedirzadeh, who gave birth to her child while serving her sentence, has been temporarily released from Urmia Prison on bail.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Soe’da Khedirzadeh was granted a 20-day furlough after posting 2.5 billion tomans in bail. Reports indicate that her child, born in prison over two and a half years ago, remains deprived of a birth certificate.
Soe’da Khedirzadeh, a resident of Piranshahr, was arrested by security forces on October 14, 2021, and transferred to Urmia Prison on November 8, 2021. On June 20, 2022, she gave birth via C-section at a hospital in Urmia and was returned to prison just one day later.
In September 2022, Branch Three of the Criminal Court One in Mahabad, presided over by Judge Javad Banaei and Gholam Karim Khani, sentenced Khedirzadeh to 12 years and six months in prison on charges of “assisting in the murder of an IRGC member” and “membership in an opposition party.”
