The Islamic Republic, after closing the borders of Balochistan and halting the “Razagh Project” in the Sistan region, is extensively transferring thousands of liters of fuel from Balochistan’s borders to neighboring countries.
According to Kolbarnews, videos show hundreds of fuel tankers controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) waiting at the Milak border for transfer to neighboring countries. This action is taking place under the pretext of “security” and “counter-terrorism,” during which the Islamic Republic has closed Balochistan’s borders and is preventing “illegal” movement in the area. Using these justifications, security forces have routinely harassed and extorted people who, in the absence of employment opportunities, are forced into fuel transport. Many have been killed or injured due to direct shootings by the military, exacerbating unemployment and economic hardships for border residents.
Additionally, after revelations of embezzlement within the “Razagh Project” by former provincial governor Mohammad Karimi, the project was shut down, depriving local border residents of its benefits. With the closure of Balochistan’s borders, the IRGC has taken exclusive control of border activities, transferring thousands of liters of fuel daily to neighboring countries.
