Temporary Release of a Protester from Khash After 649 Days in Detention

Yasin Riggi Moghadam, one of the detainees from the Khash protests in January 2023, has been temporarily released after 649 days in detention.

According to Kolbarnews, Yasin Riggi Moghadam, a 21-year-old Baloch citizen and one of the protesters detained in Khash, was temporarily freed after spending 649 days in prison. He was arrested on January 12, 2023, by plainclothes forces in Khash and transferred to Zahedan Central Prison. His release occurred on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, after posting a multi-billion rial bail.

Yasin Riggi Moghadam, who was 19 at the time of his arrest, was detained at 4 a.m. on January 12, 2023, during a raid by Intelligence forces at a relative’s home in Khash. He was subsequently transferred to Ward 9 (for political prisoners) of Zahedan Central Prison.
