Mohammadreza Avazpour, a 19-year-old Kurdish youth from the village of Ramavand in Darreh Shahr County, Ilam Province, is another victim of the nationwide protests in Tehran who was killed during the crackdown on protesters by direct fire from live ammunition by government forces.

According to Kolbarnews, Mohammadreza Avazpour was directly targeted by gunfire from suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic in Tehran on the evening of Thursday, January 9, 2026, and lost his life.
The body of this young Kurdish man was handed over to his family one day after his death, on Friday, January 10, and was buried on Saturday, January 11, 2026, in the cemetery of the village of Ramavand.
The handover of the bodies of those killed in the protests is usually accompanied by security pressure and oversight by government institutions. In many cases, families are placed under direct surveillance to restrict details of the ceremony, the number of participants, and the burial location.
As a result, families are often forced to choose alternative routes and surrounding villages to bury their loved ones.
