Hassan Saeedi, a member of the Syndicate of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, imprisoned in Evin Prison, had his six-year prison sentence reduced to four years, one month, and one day after a reconsideration by the same branch.
According to Kolbarnews, citing the Syndicate of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, Hassan Saeedi’s prison sentence was reduced.
According to the report, after registering a request for retrial by Mr. Saeedi in the Supreme Court, his six-year prison sentence was overturned by this authority and referred back to the same branch for reconsideration.
Ultimately, after the review, the said branch reduced the sentence to four years, one month, and one day of imprisonment.
Hassan Saeedi, a member of the Syndicate of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, was detained on May 18, 2022, by security forces at his residence and transferred to Evin Prison.
After his arrest, authorities confiscated his mobile phone and those of other family members during a search of his home.
He was ultimately sentenced by the Revolutionary Court to a total of six years in prison for charges including “propaganda activities against the system and society and collusion with the intent to commit crimes against national security” and was also prohibited from leaving the country, joining political parties, engaging in social networks, and residing in Tehran and neighboring provinces for two years.
Finally, this sentence was fully upheld by the Court of Appeals.
