Tehran: Artist and Music Instructor Hiwa Seifizadeh Arrested by Security Forces

Hiwa Seifizadeh, an actor, singer, and classical music instructor, was arrested by security forces during a live performance at a venue in Tehran.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, February 27, 2025, Hiwa Seifizadeh, a 27-year-old artist from Kermanshah residing in Tehran, was detained while performing at Emarat Roo Be Roo in Tehran. Security forces reportedly entered the venue during her performance and took her into custody, transferring him to an undisclosed location.

Hiwa Seifizadeh had previously expressed support for the Jina revolutionary movement, releasing songs without the compulsory hijab as a gesture of solidarity with the protests.

She comes from a prominent musical family, being the son of vocalist Mohammad-Hossein Seifizadeh and singer/music instructor Masoumeh Mehrali, as well as the brother of singer Sareng Seifizadeh and musician/composer Arzhang Seifizadeh. She is also the cousin of singer Haleh Seifizadeh.

In addition to his career as a classical music singer and tonbak (drum) player, Hiwa Seifizadeh has experience in theater acting.
