Atena Farghdani, a cartoonist and civil activist, was detained by security forces and transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison.
According to Kolbarnews on Saturday,April 13, Atena Farghdani was detained by security forces.
The report states that Ms. Farghdani, in protest against her detention, refused to accept the issued bail, and for this reason, she was transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison.
According to this report, Atena Farghdani was severely beaten and injured after her arrest, to the extent that the marks were visible on her face.
The reasons for her detention and the charges against her are not known.
Atena Farghdani was previously arrested and transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison on the June 7, 2023, after visiting Evin Courthouse. A few days later, she was charged with “disrupting public order” by Branch 1 of Evin Courthouse and ultimately released on bail.
