Military forces unlawfully raided the homes of Baloch citizens in Paskuh and opened fire on Sukhtbars during a chase, causing panic among local residents.
According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, February 7, 2025, military forces stormed the homes of Baloch citizens in Paskuh, a district of Sib and Soran County, without presenting any legal warrants. Simultaneously, during a pursuit of Sukhtbars, they fired multiple shots.
A local source reported: “Forces from the Paskuh checkpoint illegally entered the yards of several homes and fired at least 14 rounds while chasing Sukhtbars. This action, which terrified local residents, was carried out without any explanation or judicial authorization.”
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
